Through the utilisation of the marine research and development hub “MaOI-PARC”, as well as marine biological resource libraries and databases, the programme supports collaborative research between companies and researchers, and effective use of databases.

Offices and Networks of MaOI Institute
MaOI Institute supports the social implementation of various ocean-related industries. In addition to those listed below, we promote innovations originating from the ocean in a wide range of fields.
MaOI-PARC
As the core research and development base for the MaOI’s project, the Marine Open Innovation Park (MaOI-PARC) is located in the Shimizu Marine Building, equipping it with laboratories and collaborative research facilities that can be used by universities, research institutions, companies, and others. Looking ahead, plans are also being considered for the establishment of a rental laboratory building that could accommodate businesses and other organisations.
Industry-Academia-Government-Finance Network
This network aspires to provide robust support for solving challenges in the marine sector and creating new technologies and businesses through the cooperation of these four parties.
Overseas Collaboration
Focusing its efforts on international collaboration and building networks. Interactions with the marine cluster and collaborative research with overseas universities are also being conducted.
