MaOI Institute (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute") establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in the services provided by the Institute (hereinafter referred to as "the Service").

The Institute may collect personal information such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, bank account number, workplace details, etc. from users to provide services. Furthermore, the Institute may collect transactional records and payment-related information, including users' personal information present in such records, from the partner companies of the Institute (including information providers, advertisers, and advertisement distributors, hereinafter referred to as "partners").

Article 3 (Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Institute collects and uses personal information are as follows:

    ・To confirm applications for MaOI Forum membership
    ・To introduce member-limited services
    ・To confirm seminar or event applications
    ・To distribute newsletters and similar content
    ・Other necessities for providing the Service
  • ・To respond to user inquiries regarding the Service (including identity verification)
  • ・To send notifications, updates, and campaign information related to the Service to users via email
  • ・To carry out maintenance, provide critical notices, or other communications required for the Service
  • ・To identify and block users attempting to use the Service for fraudulent or improper purposes
  • ・For purposes incidental to the aforementioned purposes

Article 4 (Changes to Purposes of Use)

The Institute may change the purposes of use of personal information only when such changes are considered to have reasonable relevance to the original purposes. When changes are made, new purposes will be notified to users through prescribed methods or published on the website.

Article 5 (Management of Personal Information)

Personal information collected will be strictly managed by the Institute. Measures necessary and appropriate for safety management will be taken to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information while continuously striving for improvements.

Article 6 (Third-Party Provision of Personal Information)

The Institute will not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent from users, except as permitted under the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws and regulations.

2. Nevertheless, the following cases do not constitute third-party provision:

  • ・When the Institute entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to fulfill the purposes of use
  • ・When personal information is provided due to business succession through mergers, etc.
  • ・When personal information is shared jointly with specific entities, provided users are notified of the intention to share, the items of shared information, the scope of joint users, the purposes, and responsibility measures in advance or placed in a state where users can easily confirm this.

Article 7 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

If a user of the Service requests disclosure of personal information, the Institute will promptly disclose this information to the user. However, disclosure may be withheld fully or partially under the following circumstances, and users will be notified without delay if a decision is made not to disclose. Additionally, a fee of 1,000 yen per request will apply for personal information disclosure:

  • ・If disclosure might harm life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the user or a third party
  • ・If disclosure might significantly interfere with the appropriate execution of the Institute's operations
  • ・If disclosure violates laws and regulations
  • 2. History information and characteristic information, etc., that do not fall under personal information will generally not be disclosed.

Article 8 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

Users of the Service may request the correction, addition, or deletion (hereinafter referred to as "Correction, etc.") of their personal information if incorrect or inaccurate.
The Institute will promptly make necessary corrections if deemed appropriate upon receiving such requests. The Institute will notify users of actions taken or decisions not to correct upon receiving such requests in accordance with this regulation.

Article 9 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)

If users of the Service request suspension of use or deletion of their personal information (hereinafter referred to as "Suspension, etc.") due to reasons such as usage beyond the scope of intended purposes or acquisition by improper means, the Institute will promptly investigate.

2. Based on the investigation, appropriate measures such as Suspension, etc., will be taken if deemed necessary. Users will be promptly notified of actions taken or decisions not to suspend the use.

3. If Suspension, etc., involves significant expenses or is otherwise difficult, the Institute will take alternative measures to protect users’ rights and interests.
